Experts come in several forms. Some are prolix and complex and difficult to understand, some present their subject well, but omit critical details-perhaps to ensure that one must work for reward. Then, there are those like the present experts who know their subject so thoroughly that they share their wealth of knowledge with clarity and authority. Few experts match Marion Reid and Christine Lomas-Francis in knowledge, presentation, or in their contribution. An example is their Blood Group Antigens FactsBook, which is a valued reference manual for everyday use in the Immunohematology Laboratory.
